In 1983 Pastor Millard S Newsome heard the Gospel message at the Berean Bible Baptist Church and was convicted by the Spirit of God and responded to the message by inviting JESUS into his life to be his personal Savior.
In 1985 Pastor Newsome Founded the Reaching Out Ministry that consisted of a Newsletter to encourage people to pray for others. In 1987 it extended into a Saturday Youth group.
In 1985 Rev. Newsome accepted the call from God to preach the Gospel.
In 1991, Pastor Newsome had a burden to start a Bible believing church in his area. On June 2nd he founded the Reaching Out Bible Baptist Church in his home. There were 14 people present at the first service: Millard S Newsome, Natalie Grant, Joshua Newsome, Cynthia Edwards, Alan Miller, Linda Rawlings, Anthony Rawlings, Travon Newsome, Melvin Bell, Mary Bell, Rev. Robert Daniels, Elizabeth Daniels, Frances Grover and Rev. Phillip Miles Jr. who has gone to be with the Lord. In April of 1992 we were blessed to rent a building on main Street Murfreesboro to have our worship services. After being there for a few years God moved us to the campus of Chowan College. God used us to lead many students and visitor to the Lord. After a year we were blessed to be move to the Murfreesboro High School gym. Shortly after our move to the High school God opened the door for us to build the great place of Worship at 409 Pine Tops Rd. Murefreesboro. We have come a mighty long way with God in it all the way.
OUR GOAL
Our main goal is to lead people to Christ and to prepare adults, teens and children to be an effective witness and servant for the Lord in the local church, in other ministries and in their own homes. We aim to accomplish this through Bible Study in the home and other designated places, through the Evangelistic Outreach program, Tract Distribution, Prayer Groups, and Videos.
